Job description
Do you want to analyze data and develop state-of-the-art tools that support lifetime extension and data-driven design for offshore wind farms?
We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural dynamics and knowledge of structural health monitoring, to ensure the continuous development and maintenance of our in-house structural health monitoring tool and the analysis of data from our offshore wind farms. This includes the creation of digital twins by combining operational modal analysis with finite element updating methods. As part of the development of our in-house tools, you will also analyze data from our existing assets and prepare specialized reports and technical notes with the aim of improving the certainty and methods used for current operations and the design of future offshore wind farms.
We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a solid civil and/or mechanical engineering background, who is able to convert theory and mathematical methods into efficient program code. Your work will enable our Foundation department’s Structural Integrity team to explore
the full potential of lifetime extension and data-driven design and operations for our offshore wind farms.
Your job As our Structural Engineer for structural health monitoring and in-house tool development you will be an integral part of Primary Structures team, working with multiple disciplines across the full Vattenfall organization to deliver Digital Twins. You will need to be able to work independently in an international team, where we meet both virtually and physically.
The main responsibilities include:
- Assess the performance and improve methods for virtual sensing and operational modal analysis.
- Maintaining and developing in-house structural health monitoring tool.
- Ensuring that structural health monitoring tool is up to date and available for the analysis of running assets.
- Performing quality assurance of new implementations in in-house structural health monitoring tool.
- Reporting predicted lifetime and reliability for monitored assets and updating inspection plans.
- Analyzing incoming data and give feedback to site on the current operations
- Use analyzed measurement data to improve the certainty and methods used for the primary steel design.
- Carry out primary structure design in our in-house design tool
