Mechanical Engineer Implant BCI (f/m/d) to develop the leading generation of brain-computer interfaces with us by 2030, redefining the boundaries of medicine.

Your tasks
You will develop the mechanical design and hermetic packaging of our implantable brain-computer interface with us.
- Design and develop hermetically sealed housing and packaging solutions for the implant that ensure safe, long-term function inside the body.
- Evaluate and select encapsulation materials and methods (ceramics, titanium, polymers, etc.) with respect to biocompatibility, hermeticity, and long-term stability.
- Integrate electrodes, chip, and connectors into an implantable complete system.
- Develop test methods and test infrastructure for hermeticity testing, mechanical stress testing, and accelerated aging.
- Use CAD and FEA for design, simulation, and DFX optimization, and coordinate the interfaces with the electrode, chip, and manufacturing teams as well as external partners.
Requirements
We are hiring across all experience levels. What matters are exceptional abilities and the drive to push boundaries. This is what sets you apart:- You are passionate about shaping the next major innovation in the health-tech sector in an environment with fast decision-making processes.
- You have solid knowledge of mechanical design and packaging for implantable or hermetically sealed systems; experience with Class III medical devices is a plus.
- You have a strong understanding of materials, particularly ceramics, biocompatible metals, polymers, and their joining techniques in the context of chronic implants.
- You are proficient in CAD software, FEA tools, and rapid prototyping methods.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and think in end-to-end processes: from early architecture concepts through prototyping and testing to manufacturing-ready solutions.
- You have completed your degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroengineering, Microsystems Engineering, or a comparable field, ranking among the top of your class.
- You have a strong drive, the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas and can communicate complex matters concisely.
- You are business-fluent in English or German (min. C1).
