Your role
Data is how Cloover makes decisions — on loan portfolios, installer performance, sales, operations, and product. Right now we're deploying a new BI platform and 80+ users across the business need an analytics layer that actually works for them. We're looking for a Senior BI Developer to own that layer end-to-end: building the dashboards, data models, and semantic infrastructure that turn raw data into decisions — and migrating us from Metabase to Qlik Cloud without losing continuity on the reports people depend on daily.
This isn't a role where you inherit a finished platform. You're building it.
You'll report to our Head of Data and work across finance, sales, operations, and product from day one.
Your mission
- Design and build dashboards and reports in Qlik Cloud for finance, sales, and operations teams — built to the standard that 80+ non-technical users can actually navigate and trust.
- Develop data models and semantic layers that enable self-service analytics across the company, reducing dependency on the data team for routine questions.
- Write and optimise SQL queries against BigQuery to support reporting and ad-hoc analysis at the speed the business needs.
- Own the migration from Metabase to Qlik Cloud — ensuring continuity for critical reports and no regression in the analytics workflows teams rely on.
- Collaborate with the Data Lead to extend the dbt transformation layer and maintain data quality as the platform scales.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable visualisations — can sit in a finance or ops meeting and leave with a clear brief.
- Document data sources, metric definitions, and dashboard logic in a way that builds organisational data literacy rather than creating another dependency.
Your profile
We care more about how you think and what you've built than where you've been. Here's what will set you up for success in this role:
- 3+ years of experience in BI development, analytics, or a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills — writes clean, optimised queries and knows how to navigate a cloud data warehouse at scale.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in enterprise BI tools — Qlik Cloud preferred; strong Power BI, Tableau, or Looker experience also considered.
- Experience designing semantic layers or data models for self-service analytics — has built infrastructure others can use independently, not just dashboards others depend on.
- Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
- Translates between data and business teams without losing precision in either direction — can explain a metric definition to a finance lead and a schema decision to an engineer.
- Fluent in English. German is a plus.
- Based in Berlin and energised by being in the room. We're intentionally office-first — decisions get made in real time, data questions get answered over lunch, and the founding team is ten metres away. If that's how you thrive, you'll feel at home here.
Nice to have — but not required:
- Experience with financial datasets — credit, payments, subscriptions — or regulated industries.
- Background in fintech, climate tech, or B2B SaaS.
- Familiarity with the GCP ecosystem or Metabase.
