Your role
In most climate tech companies, design is an afterthought. At Cloover it isn't — and that's exactly why this role exists. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to take on significant ownership across our core products, designing for two fundamentally different audiences: trade professionals running their businesses, and homeowners making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. You'll work across a B2B web app and a consumer mobile product — two very different contexts, interaction models, and levels of technical literacy. In a category where design quality is genuinely low, there's real room to raise the bar.
You'll report to our Co-Founder & CPO and work within a small, growing design team. From your first week, your work will ship to real users.
Your mission
- Own product design end-to-end across multiple products and customer types, ensuring every touchpoint meets a consistently high bar for clarity, usability, and visual excellence.
- Build and evolve the design system — establishing the foundations of consistency and scalability across all products so the team ships faster without sacrificing craft.
- Create interactive prototypes in Figma that bring product ideas to life and communicate design intent to engineers and stakeholders with enough precision to ship directly.
- Drive or contribute to user research and usability testing, ensuring real installer and homeowner insight shapes design decisions before they reach engineering.
- Collaborate daily with PMs and engineers to translate requirements into designs that are scoped, buildable, and ready to ship — not just beautiful.
- Generate production-ready assets and specifications that developers can use without a back-and-forth.
- Use AI as a natural part of how you work — for research, prototyping, analysis, and beyond. Pick your stack; just use it.
- Partner closely with the existing designer on the team, sharing ownership across products and actively shaping how the design practice evolves as we grow.
Your profile
We care more about how you think and what you've built than where you've been. Here's what will set you up for success in this role:
- 5–8 years designing UX and UI for software products — enough to work fully autonomously, raise the bar on craft, and mentor others as the team scales.
- A portfolio that shows both the quality of your output and how you think through design problems — process matters as much as polish.
- Mastery of Figma and modern prototyping tools, with strong experience building and maintaining design systems from the ground up.
- Exceptional UI skills: visual design, layout, typography, and component-level thinking that holds up across two very different product contexts.
- Collaborates closely with engineers and PMs — can translate ambiguous requirements into clear design direction and give developers what they need to ship without follow-up.
- Based in Berlin and energised by being in the room. We're intentionally office-first — decisions get made in real time, prototypes get stress-tested over lunch, and the founding team is ten metres away. If that's how you thrive, you'll feel at home here.
Nice to have (but not required):
- Experience designing for both B2B and consumer audiences, ideally in fintech, onboarding flows, or complex operational tools.
- German language proficiency (B2 or above).
Don't meet every requirement? Apply anyway. We hire for potential and perspective — credentials are a starting point, not a ceiling.
