Intern in Sustainable Operations at Allianz SE (m/f/d)

Who will you be joining? 

 

Located at Allianz’s headquarters in Munich, Group Sustainable Operations drives the Group-wide approach to reducing the environmental footprint of Allianz’s own operations. The unit leads the strategic implementation of Allianz’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all Allianz sites and activities across more than 70 markets.

Group Sustainable Operations aligns the operational environmental strategy across all entities, collaborates closely with local and global stakeholders, and ensures progress against Allianz’s environmental and emissions‑reduction targets.

 

How can you make an impact? 

 

We are looking for full‑time interns (m/f/d) with a duration of 6–12 months to support our strategic and operational work in sustainable operations.

 

As an intern (m/f/d) in Group Sustainable Operations, you will primarily work in the following work streams:

• Implementation of the Group environmental strategy & operational emissions reduction roadmaps
• Group-wide environmental management and impact programs
• Internal engagement, awareness and sustainability initiatives
• Research, benchmarking, and best‑practice identification

 

You will work in a dynamic and international environment with the opportunity for active involvement and increasing responsibility in a high‑performing and collaborative team. Depending on your assigned work stream, your tasks may include:

• Supporting the design and implementation of environmental initiatives and operational sustainability programs across Allianz Global Operations
• Assisting Allianz entities worldwide in identifying value, assessing impact, and defining measures to improve performance toward Group sustainability targets
• Conducting research and benchmarking on industry trends and translating best practices into actionable insights
• Developing and implementing employee awareness and engagement activities to embed sustainability in the Allianz culture
• Supporting the team with various administrative and organizational tasks (planning, documentation, guideline preparation, etc.)

 

What are you made of? 

 

• You are currently working towards a university degree (master, PhD) in business administration, finance, management, sustainability, economics, political sciences, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or any related field
• Previous knowledge and/or strong interest in at least one of the outlined work streams
• Ideally, first practical experience in sustainability and/or project management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; German or another European language is an asset
• Availability for 6–12 months
• Strong ability to think and act independently with the capacity to quickly adapt to new situations
• Proactive, flexible, and energetic team player with a strong personal interest in sustainability, environmental issues, and societal impact
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of PowerBI or SharePoint is a plus
