Job description
We're digitizing the construction industry – and we're looking for you to help write the next chapter.
We're digitizing the construction industry – and integrations are how our customers connect to us.VESTIGAS is a fast-growing B2B SaaS scale-up. 14 of the top 20 construction companies and 17 of the top 20 suppliers in Germany are already our customers. Every one of them brings a different IT landscape, different data formats, different ERP systems – and that's exactly where you come in.
We're hiring an API Engineer / Integration Engineer to join our growing integrations team. You'll own integrations end-to-end and enable self-service onboarding for our customers.
Your Role
You'll join our integrations team and report directly to the CTO. You own APIs and integrations from design to deployment, implement industry-standard data formats (EDIFACT, ZUGFeRD, ebInterface, X-Rechnung), and build the self-service experience that lets customers connect to Vestigas without hand-holding.You'll work directly with customer IT teams and ERP software vendors – so you're as comfortable in technical specs as you are on a customer call. Tech stack: Python, FastAPI, REST/OpenAPI, AWS. Hybrid setup with regular office presence at our Goetheplatz office in central Munich.
Your Mission
- Build and maintain robust APIs that connect our platform with external systems (customer ERPs, supplier systems, third-party tools), ensuring data flows seamlessly and reliably.
- Design, implement, and document integrations with industry-standard data formats – EDIFACT, ZUGFeRD, ebInterface, X-Rechnung, and other XML-/EDI-based standards. Mappings, validation, error handling
- Enable efficient self-service integrations for our customers through world-class documentation, allowing them to connect to their systems with minimal friction.
- Take full ownership of your integrations, from planning and architecture to testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, frontend, customer success, third-party providers, and ERP software vendors to deliver integrated solutions that delight customers.
- Write clean, well-tested code and maintain comprehensive API documentation so others can integrate quickly and with minimal friction.
- Put AI agents and tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to work on the tasks they're built for, and focus on the work only humans can do.
Your Benefits
- Real ownership – you own integrations end-to-end, not just tickets
- Direct line to the CTO and a dedicated, growing integrations team
- Visible business impact – every integration you ship unlocks revenue and gets customers live faster
- Modern stack and AI-first workflow – Copilot, Claude, Cursor are part of how we work
- Beautiful office in central Munich, hybrid model with regular office presence
- Construction site visits – you see where your integrations actually land
- Included gym membership, team events, offsites, flat hierarchies
- Domain with substance – not just CRUD APIs, but real data formats, EDI world, ERP integrations
Your Profile
Must-haves:- 1+ years of experience in Backend / API Engineering (Python preferred, other languages welcome)
- API design skills (REST, ideally OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Clean documentation mentality – you write API docs that people actually read
- Cross-functional collaboration – you've worked with external systems and customer IT teams before
- You're comfortable diving deep into technical documentation and complex data formats
- You actively use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor) in your workflow
- You are fluent in German (C1+) and English (C1+) – both are required, since customer communication is in German and internal documentation is often in English
- You're willing to be regularly present at our Munich office
Nice-to-have:
- Concrete experience with at least one industry-standard data format: EDIFACT, ZUGFeRD, ebInterface, X-Rechnung, EDI, or similar XML-/EDI-based formats
- B2B SaaS experience in conservative industries (construction, logistics, industrial, wholesale)
- ERP integration experience (SAP, Datev, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS)
- Existing setup with Python stack (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy)
- Startup experience (Seed to Series B)
Why us?
- Real ownership from day one – you own integrations end-to-end, not just tickets
- Visible business impact – every integration you build directly unlocks revenue (sales pipeline depends on it)
- Exciting domain – the construction industry is huge (>10bn € savings potential in Germany alone) and massively under-digitized
- Tech stack with substance – not just CRUD APIs, but real data formats, EDI world, ERP integrations
- Top customers – 14 of Germany's top 20 construction firms and 17 of Germany's top 20 suppliers
- Growing integrations team and direct line to the CTO – short paths, fast decisions
- AI-first mindset – we expect and support the use of Copilot, Claude, Cursor
- Construction site visits – you see where your code actually lands (construction site ≠ office theory)
- Beautiful office in central Munich, hybrid model with flexibility
- Included gym membership, team events, flat hierarchies
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
VESTIGAS is committed to diverse and equal opportunities hiring for all – applicants, candidates, and employees alike. We value humans – with all our glorious multifaceted backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences – and look forward to your application.
