We, the Compliance team, proactively contribute to the trust that our customers have in Van Lanschot Kempen. We are looking for a Compliance Officer for the Client Protection team, who will help with leading our Compliance program and keep its framework fit for purpose. Ensuring compliance with subjects such as Duty of Care, Client Asset Protection, Client Balance Monitoring, Product Governance, Banking Products/Services, etc.
The Client Protection team within the Compliance function performs activities for the various client groups within Van Lanschot Kempen (Private Clients NL, Investment Management Clients and Investment Banking Clients), and when necessary to corporate functions such as Corporate Centre, DAAT and Operations. You will support this team and help with the further development of our Compliance processes, systems and procedures to ensure that risks are effectively, but also efficiently managed. Collaboration with business segments and a harmonized approach are important elements in your role and crucial to ensure an effective Compliance program. As Compliance Officer Client Protection, you will report to the Manager of the Client Protection team.

Compliance advice in cooperation with other officers within and outside the Compliance department, such as with Risk Management, Internal Control and Legal.

Analyzing risks related to financial products and services relevant to your dedicated business units within VLK.

Developing, implementing and maintaining an effective strategic and tactical Compliance program for Van Lanschot Kempen in close collaboration with the relevant business units and internal and external key stakeholders.

Assisting with maintaining policies, frameworks and supporting other teams and business lines for implementation.

Supporting solid training programs to maintain staff awareness regarding specific compliance topics and ensure risk based Compliance monitors and adequate reporting are into place.

Facilitating and contributing to the execution of strategic planning and support change initiatives within Compliance and the business units.

Oversee internal compliance processes, policies, and provide clarity to stakeholders.

Contributing to the enhancement of the Compliance Training & Awareness program.

Various other Compliance activities within the Client Protection team.

You act as an expert who guides and advises the business units and other stakeholders on the provisions and requirements in the related Client Protection area.

You also have

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Compliance and preferably in a banking environment.

A university degree, preferably supplemented with relevant compliance training.

A strong understanding of compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.

The ability to identify complex and/or risky situations from a Client Protection perspective.

Strong communication skills to easily build trusted relationships across various business units and stakeholders.

Good mastery of English, both written and spoken.

A gross monthly salary within the VLK-5 level pay scale (P3), commensurate with your knowledge and experience.
