Background
We are seeking a Partnership Development Lead to cover a period of temporary leave. This is a fixed-term role of 3–6 months, with the possibility of extension, and the contract type will be tailored to the successful candidate’s location.
The Partnership Development Lead is instrumental in implementing our strategy to develop our network of Funder Partners, building bridges within and beyond the philanthropy sector. During this cover period, they will help maintain momentum on Partners For a New Economy (P4NE) ’s fundraising strategy in line with the organisation’s overall goals.
The Partnership Development Lead (PDL) works with the Director and P4NE team to grow the funder base and maximise the resources available to support the new economy field. The PDL will draw on their understanding of fundraising and the international philanthropic sector to research new potential funders for P4NE, looking across a broad spectrum of grant-makers — from traditional trusts and foundations through to next-gen funders and high-net-worth individuals. Excellent communication skills will be key to producing materials that support our fundraising efforts and to assisting the Director in writing and submitting funding applications to deadline.
Key Criteria for Success

Work with the Director to actively contribute to the team’s future growth income targets, increasing from $4 M USD per year in 2025 to $10 M USD per year by 2030.

Work with the Director to submit proposals (at six/seven-figure levels) to secure new partnerships.

Work with Director to submit reports to existing funding partners.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge on developments in the philanthropic sector for P4NE.

Accurate record keeping, including maintaining funder records on P4NE's CRM as up-to-date in order to ensure successful relationship management.
Primary responsibilities
The job holder will have the following key responsibilities:
Philanthropy Research and Prospect Development*** ***

Work alongside colleagues to identify prospects aligned with the funding needs of Partners for a New Economy.

Regularly review the funder pipeline to ensure P4NE has the appropriate numbers of prospects to meet financial targets and monitor progress of relationship building.
Events

Collaborate with the P4NE team to develop a series of funder cultivation events and touch points across the year. Lead on the delivery of these funder events, with responsibility for logistics, associated communications and maintaining accurate records, including using P4NE’s CRM, Beacon.

Collaborate with the team on P4NE’s Funder Learning sessions by compiling prospect lists for attendees, supporting the annual series of events and broader funder cultivation efforts, and maintaining accurate records in P4NE’s CRM, Beacon.

Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth delivery of two funder exchange days’ that bring together new economy funders in a community of practice. This is likely to include follow up for our May event and planning for our October event.

Support the scheduling and delivery of online Salons, designed for new economy curious foundations.
Stewardship

Working closely with the Director to ensure positive relationship management with key stakeholders, including existing and potential partners.

Monitor ‘Partner Journey’ with stewardship plan for each of our supporters.

Maintain accurate records of donor communications to support effective. Stewardship.
Fundraising

Work with the Director to develop engaging funding proposals in line with the mission of the Partners for a New Economy.

Ensure timely and correct submission of grant applications and reports, tracking and meeting deadlines.

Maintain accurate records of engagement with funders, both existing and potential, in our documentation and P4NE´s CRM (Beacon).

Use a wide range of sources to research and write high quality briefings on individuals, companies and charitable foundations for the team.

Support effective and accurate communications with our network of funders, to ensure excellent relationship management and development.
Contract type
This is a fixed-term contract covering an employee on temporary leave. The contract type may vary depending on the candidate’s location. The initial term is 3–6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Experience
-
Successful track record in philanthropy, ideally gained with Trusts & Foundations and individual major donors (e.g. HNW individuals and family offices).

Ability to research donors and identify opportunities for funding partnerships.

Demonstrable experience of cultivating and securing six-figure donations in a comparable sector.

Strong relationship management, and communication and interpersonal skills
-
At least 3 - 5 years’ work experience in a relevant field with responsibility for securing six-and/or seven - figure donations.

Strong computer skills: Word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM.
Desired Experience
