This will be your future job
- Design of analog and mixed-signal ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) blocks in CMOS Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) technology for X-ray pixel detectors
- Collaboration with international partners in the development of complex ASICs
- Contribution to the development and implementation of test strategies as well as the setup of test environments
- Execution of experimental characterizations in the electronics laboratory
- Simulation, layout, and finalization of complex ASIC structures, including components from external partners
- Use of tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and UltraSim for circuit design and simulation
- Integration of new design methodologies to optimize low-noise analog circuits and signal processing
- Documentation of all development and test results in accordance with project requirements

What you bring to the table
- Completed degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable field
- At least three years of experience in ASIC-design, or a PhD with a focus on integrated circuits
- In-depth knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including schematic capture, layout, and simulation
- Practical experience with design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, or UltraSim
- Understanding of low-noise analog design as well as signal processing and filtering techniques
- Experience with laboratory equipment for the electrical characterization of integrated circuits
- Hands-on experience in the development of electronic readout circuits, e.g. for detector applications, is desirable
- Familiarity with front-end architectures for high data rates or wide dynamic ranges is an advantage
- Technical-level proficiency in English required; additional language skills are welcomed
