Objective
To assist in the efficient and effective implementation of the purchasing policy and the forwarding strategies, supporting the ships’ needs.
Responsibilities

Organizes and coordinates the purchase of spare parts, stores, and provisions, and the supply of goods and services necessary for the ships’ operation.

Reviews and evaluates vendor quotations in terms of quality, price, and delivery time and informs the Purchasing Manager.
· Monitors the ships' spare parts lists and inventories, cross-checking against requisitions.
· Maintains and circulates the requisitions lists, including remarks for the other departments.
· Ensures safe and timely order delivery onboard the ships.
- Reviews and assesses spares/stores/provisions/forwarding invoices and checks if they include all agreed discounts and purchase terms before approval.
· Monitors and evaluates the LO needs and prepares stems for approval by the Technical Manager.
· Supervises the purchase organization of spares, equipment, provisions, deck/engine stores, lubricants, paints, chemicals, etc.
· Supervises freight forwarding services and stockpiles.
· Obtains the forwarding details and informs the suppliers, Masters, and Agents about the delivery point and means. Especially for spare parts/equipment, he completes the export procedure, customs in/out formalities, fax arrangements, freight rate evaluation/fixing, and payment.
· Follows up on the deliveries until they get onboard, cross-checks delivery receipts and invoices, verifies the delivery completion, and files the ships' delivery notes.
· Arranges the forwarding of required publications in cooperation with the relevant managers.
· Updates and maintains a list of approved suppliers and monitors other Departments’ comments influencing the approval.
· Maintains and updates records of purchase requests and relevant documents and the suppliers' evaluation and certification.
· Performs cost and consumption checks.
· Evaluates the suppliers of provisions, stores, etc., recording any factors resulting in failures.
· Well-established related work experience
