As the Junior Corporate Accountant, you will assist the Senior Manager Consolidation & Corporate Accounting in the preparation of periodical and yearly stand-alone and consolidated financial statements, maintaining and controlling the accounts of the group鈥檚 holding and financing companies.

Corporate Accounting of Holding & Financing entities*

You prepare the accounting general ledger transactions for our corporate holding and financing entities.

You prepare the related monthly trial balances and general ledger reconciliations, periodical (interim) and statutory annual accounts.

You interact with Shurgard鈥檚 auditors with regard to the preparation and sign-off of these accounts.

You prepare monthly and yearly VAT returns for some of our corporate entities.

You resolve and highlight accounting discrepancies and irregularities, prepare and process vendor payments for the entities that are within the scope of your responsibilities.
Treasury

You prepare, maintain, and reconcile with counterparts intra group and external borrowing schedules and support the timely notification and payment of interest and principal loan repayments.

You follow-up on the daily cash-pool movements.

You support the bank administration process.
Process and systems

You ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with group policies and procedures.

You identify possible improvements of accounting control procedures.

You participate in various control systems that apply to the holding and financing entities.

You enhance existing documentation and processes.

LET鈥橲 TALK ABOUT YOUR PROFILE!

You hold a bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting, finance or economics.

You recently graduated or had a first professional experience in accounting, financial controlling, consolidation or reporting.

You have first working knowledge of Belgian or Luxembourg accounting principles, with and some basic knowledge of IFRS being a plus.

You have a fluent working knowledge of English. Good French and / or Dutch language skills are considered an asset.

You have a good working knowledge of MS Office applications in general and Excel skills in particular. Basic knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana Public Cloud is considered as a strong asset.
