Job Description
This is not a traditional sales or account management position. The Commercial Lead is a high-impact, hybrid role at the intersection of supply chain expertise and commercial growth. You will bring deep domain knowledge in supply chain planning and purchasing, and we will equip you with the commercial and sales skills to succeed.
You will act as a blend of Supply Chain Consultant, Strategic Account Executive, and future Commercial Leader, starting in the field with customers and growing into a role that shapes our commercial strategy across Europe.
This is what you'll be doing
Phase 1: The Domain Mastery(Months 1-3)

Customer Value Realization: You will dive deep into Customer Success, managing a portfolio of mid-market clients to solve retention challenges and deeply understand why they win with Optiply.

Strategic Benchmarking: You will lead technical and financial conversations, mapping how our AI engine impacts their cash flow and product availability.
Phase 2: The Growth Engine(Months 4-9)

Full-Cycle Closing: Stepping into the Account Executive front line. You will handle the mission-critical closing of deals, ensuring you deeply understand all the ins and outs of the sales process.

Cross-sell & Upsell Innovation: You will own the "hidden" pipeline, identifying and executing projects to expand our footprint within existing accounts in areas that currently lack focus but hold massive potential.
Phase 3: The Scalability Architect(Months 10+)

Commercial Leadership: As you prove your impact, you will naturally transition into a leadership role, not by title, but by influence. You will optimise SDR/AE processes and bake AI efficiencies into our sales playbook.

Benelux Market Ownership: Take full ownership of our commercial footprint in the Benelux region: deepening relationships with existing customers, identifying whitespace opportunities, and building the foundation for sustainable, scalable growth in the market.
This is who we’re looking for

Supply Chain or Purchasing Background: You understand lead times, safety stocks, and inventory trade-offs. Whether from logistics-tech, a buying role, or consulting. This domain knowledge is non-negotiable.

Strong Communicator: You can command a room, build trust with senior stakeholders, and translate complex operational realities into compelling narratives.

Commercial Experience: You have been part of sales processes whether as an AE, in a pre-sales or consultative role, or as a key stakeholder in closing deals. You know what good looks like and are ready to own the full cycle.

Agentic Mindset: You are tech-savvy and think about how AI can replace manual work. You don't just use tools; you redesign processes around them.

No Ego, High Impact: You are comfortable starting in the weeds of sales and customer success to earn the right to lead. You prefer a lean, high-efficiency team.
