The Sr. Process Engineer reports to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer and is responsible for leading process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. This role is critical in ensuring efficient, safe, cost effective and environmentally compliant operations across the plant’s milling, flotation, crystallization, compaction, and drying processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What You'll Do:

Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

Complete required metallurgical analysis and reporting, including the site's production stats, downtime reporting, metallurgical losses, and reagent consumption

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations

Support capital projects, including scope development, design, commissioning, and startup

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Monitoring quality in all stages of the process to determine improvements opportunities and to maintain production and enhance safety

Analyze test results for potential improvements

Responsible to provide technical support in the development and optimization of existing processes

Areas of focus will include maintaining stable process control, achieving production targets, accurate metallurgical accounting and reducing operating costs

Work with Operations and Maintenance to identify plant issues and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
What You'll Bring:

Chemical/Process Engineering Degree or equivalent education preferred; would consider other Engineering discipline

Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with P.Eng. designation

Applicants with 4 or more years of experience will be considered

Must be able to work independently or in a team structure

Well versed in mass/energy balancing, statistics, transport phenomena (slurries an asset), equipment selection/evaluation, and process control/design

Experience working in a mineral processing environment is preferred

Exposure to mineral based modeling and assay reconciliation software will be highly regarded (i.e. METSIM), as well as exposure to process control systems (DeltaV), and data historians (PI).
