Finance, Legal & Global Solutions

Build the data backbone that powers financial decision-making across a global healthcare leader. Join our core backend team where your pipelines and data solutions will enable Finance teams to operate with speed, accuracy, and insight—ultimately supporting our mission to change lives for millions of patients.
Your new role
As a Data Engineer in our core backend team, you'll design and operate the scalable data infrastructure that underpins our Finance Data Centre. Working primarily with Databricks, you'll build robust ETL/ELT processes that transform raw data into reliable, timely insights for our global Finance organization. This is a hands-on technical role where your work directly enables finance teams to make data-driven decisions that matter.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and operating scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes on Databricks
- Working with raw source systems, data modelling, transformation logic, and orchestration to ensure timely and accurate finance data delivery
- Implementing best practices for data quality, observability, performance, and cost optimization in a cloud environment
- Supporting deployment, CI/CD, and production incident resolution to maintain high system reliability
- Collaborating with product owners, analysts, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable business value
- Ensuring data governance, security, and compliance across all data engineering solutions
- Working in agile, cross-functional teams with a focus on delivering production-ready, high-quality solutions
Your new department
You'll join Enterprise Platforms within Novo Nordisk IT, where we deliver a robust and scalable data foundation that enables the global Finance organization to operate efficiently and make insight-driven decisions. Our Finance Data Centre is strengthening its capabilities across our core technology stack—SAP BW/4HANA, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. You'll work alongside solution architects, developers, analysts, and data engineers from diverse technical and multinational backgrounds. We design, build, and maintain data solutions that support core finance processes, with collaboration, business focus, and technical excellence at the heart of how we work. Our goal is to use data to gain new understandings, drive optimizations, and create true business value for Finance, Novo Nordisk, and the patients we serve.
In Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, we enable Novo Nordisk to fulfil our purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure, and driving value creation. We are a team of 2,300 colleagues primarily based at our headquarters in Denmark and our Global Business Services centres in India and Mexico.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in building production-grade data pipelines. You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, jobs)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with Data Engineering frameworks
- Experience with data modelling, ingestion patterns, and orchestration tools
- Knowledge of cloud platform services (Azure/AWS/GCP) relevant to Databricks
- Experience with data observability tools, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate finance needs into technical solutions
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work in agile, cross-functional teams
- Strong quality and delivery focus, with the ability to produce robust, production-ready solutions
- Commitment to data governance, security, and compliance
- Fluent spoken and written English
Nice to have:
- Interest in finance data and core finance processes—you'll work closely with Finance stakeholders, so business curiosity is valuable
- Experience working in a regulated industry or financial organization
