Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IBM MQ Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our messaging infrastructure across diverse environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IBM MQ, system administration (Linux/Wintel), file transfer management, and flow construction. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a passion for automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Manage, administer, and maintain IBM MQ infrastructure across development, test, and production environments. Install, configure, and upgrade IBM MQ software and related components. Monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and perform capacity planning. Troubleshoot and debug complex messaging issues, including thread dumps and memory analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable messaging solutions. Create, support, and migrate file transfers and flows, including decommissioning legacy flows. Configure and maintain systems on both Linux and Wintel platforms. Implement and maintain DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Ensure messaging systems meet security, compliance, and disaster recovery standards. Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and operational best practices. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience with IBM MQ administration in enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of Linux and Wintel configuration and system administration. Experience in file transfer protocols and building messaging flows. Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in complex operational issues. Programming/scripting experience for enterprise application integration. Exposure to cloud platforms; hands-on experience with Azure is preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical topics clearly. Self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of driving tasks independently. Desirable Skills: Experience with migration projects (e.g., MQ upgrades or system transitions). Passion for continuous improvement, experimentation, and emerging technologies. Ability to work under pressure, with strong time and stress management skills.
