Description**:**
As an intern in the J9 Civil-Military Cooperation Branch at HQ JFC Brunssum you will be required to provide administrative assistance in the development, collection and storage of data relating to the Civil Factors of the Operating Environment and NATO 7 Baselines of Resilience (7BLR) within the J9 CIMIC team.
About** the internship:**
During this 6-month programme, starting **1 February 2027 **until 30 July 2027, you will join the J9 Civil-Military Cooperation Branch. The J9 CIMIC Branch is looking for an intern to contribute to the production, management and maintenance of a comprehensive collection and retrieval database, relating to the Civil Environment within the Area of Responsibility and associated 7BLR topics.
The** ideal candidate**** **must:
****be enrolled and undertake a ****Bachelor’s degree ****in ****the field of Political Science / Data Science or similar;
-
possess knowledge of international organisations including the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation;
-
be able to effectively plan and organize the working time;
-
have the ability to work under pressure.
In addition, we are looking for candidates having the following desirable skills:
-
strong computer skills (e.g. ECDL) including use of Microsoft Office package;
-
familiarity with data handling and database management;
-
understanding of open-source information research methodologies;
-
be dynamic, self-motivated and personable with an ability to work in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds;
-
an interest in international security structures and military cooperation.
Stipend:
You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of € 1477.30 (2026 rates), per month based on 37.5 hours internship work hours per week.
We will also compensate you for travel costs to/from university to HQ JFC Brunssum (within set cap rates).
Interns will be entitled to 2 days of leave for each full month (of 37.5 hours a week) of internship.
