Vacancy: Team Leader – Survey Operations

MCE Marine Surveyors B.V. is seeking a dedicated and proactive Team Leader to manage and guide our team of bunker and cargo surveyors. You will be responsible for the daily planning and coordination of field activities, quality control, and mentoring surveyors to deliver reliable and consistent results to our clients.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of bunker and cargo surveyors across the Netherlands and Belgium.

• Plan and assign daily survey tasks, ensuring adequate shift coverage and responsiveness.

• Monitor team performance and provide feedback and coaching.

• Coordinate with clients, agents, suppliers and internal staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Handle urgent operational escalations and support team members in the field.

• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with safety and reporting standards.

• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.

• Work closely with management to report on operations and optimize efficiency.

Requirements

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in leading a team (minimum 5 team members).

• At least bachelor’s degree in administration, operations, logistics, or a related field. Relevant leadership experience may supplement formal education.

• Experience in bunker quantity surveys, cargo inspections, or maritime logistics.

• Solid organizational and planning skills.

• Able to work flexible hours when needed (occasionally evenings/weekends).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken); basic Dutch preferred.

• Russian and/or Ukrainian language skills are an asset.

• Valid work permit in the Netherlands or willingness to relocate.

• Driver licence "B"
