Our client, a global service provider, is recruiting a Transport and Security Solution Engineer to join their project in Romania. Position Title: Transport and Security Solution Engineer Position Type: Contract Start Date: ASAP Location: Romania Contact: Iulia Balan | +49 (0) 89 23 88 98 62 Responsibilities: Working closely with the wider Client Technical teams you will assume the following responsibilities: Work with customers as SPOC to their security experts on their design requirements for network security. Provide Client design for security aspects of all impacted interfaces including certificate handling / PKI. Engage with customer security teams on PEN testing and vulnerability hardening for vRAN and RU. Engage with the customer regulatory team on certification needs in the UK and EU. Design, implement, and optimize IP/MPLS networks to support high-availability transport services. Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SR-IPv6 and MPLS-based solutions (L2VPN, L3VPN, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing) on multiple Platforms like Juniper, Ciena and Cisco. Integrate network monitoring and management platforms (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Telemetry, SDN). Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IP Core, Transport, and Security teams, to support network initiatives. Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and process documentation. Ability to travel sporadically during the project. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision- Highly preferred. Qualifications: Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science/IT. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience IP transport and security experience. Must have experience with IP Transport design and development in wireless networks. Fundamental understanding of Openstack/Kubernetes is preferred. Understanding of virtualized solutions in telecom space. Understand or be able to understand ISO 27001 standard and Information Security Management System. Be capable of planning a security and risk management plan with the support of the local security office and security office. Report to the customers when a security incident or security patch happens according to the agreed contract. Possess the Capability to assess and compare security solutions and discuss these with customer and internal organizations promoting Client solutions. Possess deep knowledge of the respective security protocols and mechanisms (IPSec, TSL, Certificate handling, PKI) and their use in ORAN network solutions across the Cloud stack. Possess an indepth knowledge of software application package security (code signing, secure storage, secure boot, etc). Possess an indepth knowledge of system hardening and vulnerability assessment, PEN testing, including process for securing our SW in R&D. Possess the ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment Proven customer and stakeholder communication and management skills. Excellent organisational skills and an ability to anticipate customer’s needs and act accordingly Excellent level of presentation, communication and planning skills. Ability to prepare & deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales. Fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent documentation writing skills.
