Position Title Technical Lead Network Trials Position Type Contract Start Date 1st of July Location Budapest, Hungary, with occasional travel to Germany Contact: Iulia Balan | +49 (0) 89 23 88 98 62 We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Technical Lead to oversee Network Trial activities related to its operations in Europe. You will manage and oversee the Design, Test/Validation and Operational activities ensuring Client delivers ORAN trials effectively and ensures Client;s product and service capabilities are to the forefront. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a proven track record in Technical Leadership and has extensive experience in RAN and virtualisation technologies across the delivery lifecycle. This role will be based in Hungary but will require travel to other EU locations. The on-boarding timeline for this role is expected to be July 1 st 2026. Responsibilities: Working closely with the widerClient’ Technical teams you will assume the following responsibilities: Installation and Commissioning - Work on a team of engineers providing installation support (lab and production) for the Client’s ORAN application Define the Low Level Design document structure and populate the document with the necessary Client’s parameters and key system settings as per the HLD Testing Support – Create test cases, test plans and execute test plans for Client ORAN applications in customer labs. Document test results. This includes feature testing, performance testing and inter-operability testing. Under the guidance of the Line Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:- Full accountability for successful trial delivery in the areas under your direct responsibility Responsible for development and management of all process/procedures associated with the delivery of the trial project Provide regular internal reporting to all stakeholders including progress, risks, issues and milestone adherence Manage the Client approved subcontractor(s)suppliers ensuring that they deliver according to the agreed contractual commitments and to the highest of standards e.g. CoTs and CaaS suppliers You will build and maintain excellent relationships from the outset throughout the customer Technical organisations up to Head of Function level thereby leading to a highly engaged and satisfied customers that maximises the chances of further opportunities and growth Ensure sign off at each trial milestone agreed with the customer including Design, Test completion, and trial sign off Deliver a high standard of documentation across the Design, Test and in-life functions and ensure a repository of documentation is maintained working in close concert with the Design and Test/Validation teams. Requirements: Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, IT or Computer Science Minimum of 10 years experience in the Mobile Telecommunication Market Self-confident and firm stance towards the Customer, Partners, Staff and Subcontractors Proven ability to control the performance of Staff / Partners / Subcontractors Excellent Knowledge of Open Radio Access Technologies Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies and Kubernetes UNIX/Linux experience and script development Know-how and experience in mobile radio networks (GSM/LTE/NR/ORAN) Deep understanding of 2G/4G/5G call processing and signalling Extensive experience for lab activities, integration, testing/validation, performances analysis via counters & traces Extensive knowledge of Network Design methodologies and design preparation (HLD/LLD) in RAN/vRAN Initiative and autonomy in approach to work Excellent Reporting Skills Excellent Presentation Skills MS Office Suite (High Competence) Excel, Word and PowerPoint (High Competence) Fluent in spoken and written English and Hungarian (German also nice to have) Good report writing skills Willingness to travel as required Strong team player Ability to work under tight timelines and demands Essential Soft Skills A good understanding of the relationship between supplier and customer during the Delivery and Maintenance phases, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role. Ability to influence customers towards Client’s preferred solutions. A high level of presentation, communication and planning skills. Ability to deliver final proposal documents to a high standard within tight timescales. Effective communicator with excellent inter-personnel and presentation skills Able to access and communicate with all levels of management Enthusiastic and positive attitude Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision Desirable Hard/Soft Skills Track record in the successful Network Delivery and Operations Previous experience working in a European service organisation in a similar role Previous experience in a similar role with CSP’s across Europe Experience working with organisations who provide components of the Open RAN stacks e.g. Dell/HPE/WindRiver/RedHat Past experience working with Telecommunications divisions with Head Quarters in Asia an advantage.
