Position Title: Operations Manager Position Type: Permanent Start Date: ASAP Location: Viena, Austria Contact: Bianca | +49 (0) 89 23 88 98 673 Job Description: We are launching our last-mile delivery network in Austria and are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to build and lead our on-ground operations, network expansion, and partner ecosystem. This individual will play a critical role in building the last-mile delivery network with a strong focus on operational, local partner acquisition, and resource alignment. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the local last-mile ecosystem and a wide network of DSPs (Delivery Service Providers), couriers, and relevant stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth analysis of Austria’s last-mile delivery market and operational landscape Lead end-to-end last-mile operations, including couriers, lockers, and 3PL partners Build and continuously optimize the national address database, route planning models, and delivery standards Monitor and manage daily operational KPIs (SLA, success rate, cost-per-parcel, network efficiency) Lead operational launch activities, pilot programs, SOP development, and continuous improvement initiatives Oversee vendor/3PL performance and ensure consistent service quality and compliance Collaborate closely with IT, Product, and HQ teams to enhance system performance and operational digitalization Ensure compliance with Austrian postal regulations, data protection requirements, and labor standards Evaluate, recommend, and support setup of key operational infrastructure (CDC, hubs, drop-off points, lockers, etc.) Work closely with regional Eastern Europe leadership teams to align with the overall market expansion roadmap Support legal, commercial, and regulatory processes where operational input is required Provide hands-on operational guidance and on-site support throughout the ramp-up and scale-up phases Qualifications & Experience: 10 years of management experience in logistics and 5 years of last-mile delivery experience in Austria Proven track record of setting up or scaling last-mile operations in a local or regional role Deep understanding of Austria courier, e-commerce, and logistics service provider landscape Strong network of DSPs, independent delivery agents, or fleet operators Familiarity with operational metrics, cost structures, and regulatory considerations Excellent communication skills in English and German Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment For more details contact: sales(at)manningglobal.com Quoting reference: AT_MGBP_OM_ Or call Bianca on: +49 (0) 89 23 88 98 673 View our latest jobs: www.manningglobal.com Follow us on twitter: @ManningGlobal If you know of anyone within your network who may also be interested in this position,would you please forward this ‘Email & Role’ to them.
