Working Student - Supply Chain (m/f/d)
Position Summary
As a student working in supply chain for the Munich plant of LivaNova Deutschland GmbH you will be responsible for supporting the department along the whole supply chain We are a leading MedTech company committed to improving patient outcomes through innovative technologies and reliable medical equipment. Our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of high-quality components and services that meet strict regulatory and quality standards.
To support our Purchasing function, we are looking for a Working Student who is passionate about supply chain topics, curious about the potential of AI in procurement, and has a basic understanding of Lean principles.
General Responsibilities
- Assist the purchasing team in operational tasks such as order processing, supplier follow-ups, and documentation
- Support strategic sourcing activities including supplier evaluation and data analysis
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives using Lean tools (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping)
- Help explore and implement AI-based solutions for forecasting, spend analysis, or supplier risk assessment
- Maintain procurement databases and support reporting activities (e.g., KPIs, cost tracking)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, and R&D to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Support the department in day-to-day business
- Support in processing orders and delivery schedules for medical components
- Monitoring delivery dates and communicating with suppliers
- Handling order confirmations and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining material and supplier master data in the ERP system (e.g., SAP)
- Assisting with complaints and returns
- Preparing evaluations and reports on purchasing performance
- Contributing to the optimization of operational purchasing processes, considering regulatory requirements (e.g., MDR)
- Participate in new innovative activities in supply chain
Skills and Experience
- Regular students of a technical college or university who are matriculated
- Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Production&Logistics, Supply Chain Management
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- First experience or strong interest in Purchasing or Supply Chain in a regulated industry (e.g., MedTech, Pharma, Automotive)
- Interest in AI applications in business processes (e.g., predictive analytics, automation)
- Interest in continuous improvement, LEAN, Supply Chain, Logistics, Automation
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus
- Reliable, structured, and proactive working style
- English and German (B2 or higher) skills both written and spoken
- Good communication and team skills
- Interest in purchasing processes and medical products
