Job description
JustPlay is looking for an experienced and business-oriented Accounting Lead to join our growing Finance team. You will not only manage financial processes but you will shape how finance operates in a modern, digital organization. This role covers a broad spectrum of accounting, with a strong focus on delivering accurate, compliant, and audit-ready financials under IFRS and German local GAAP. You will operate in a fast-paced, international environment, working closely with the CFO, Associate Director of Finance, tax advisors, and suppliers while supporting a modern, tech-driven accounting structure.
Job Requirements
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field.
7+ years of professional experience in accounting, audit, or controlling.
Hands-on expertise in German local GAAP and IFRS.
A proven track record of independently managing and leading full financial cycles, including month-end, year-end closings and external audits.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems/ERPs, with hands-on experience in DATEV and designing efficient accounting infrastructure.
Foundational knowledge of German tax and corporate law.
A highly structured and analytical mindset with a strong bias for automation and technology-driven solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, fluent in both German and English (written and verbal).
Previous experience in a fast-growing startup/scale-up environment.
Job Responsibilities
Establish and lead the internal Accounting function and take full ownership of the end-to-end accounting process, including general ledger, fixed assets and transfer pricing within the group of 2 German and 1 Cyprus operating entities.
Independently own and drive high-quality, timely deliverables for month-end and year-end closings, as well as all audit preparation and execution.
Ensure robust compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements, including Bundesbank reporting and statutory filings.
Serve as the key strategic accounting partner for internal stakeholders (CFO, Associate Director of Finance) and external partners (tax advisors, auditors, suppliers), including sign-off on statutory filings.
Lead the transformation of our financial processes by driving continuous improvements and designing smart, scalable accounting workflows that support our rapid growth.
