Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer, Service Engineering & Automation (Public Cloud) in France.

This is a highly technical senior engineering role focused on designing, deploying, and operating complex hybrid and public cloud environments at scale. You will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, automation, and service reliability, ensuring enterprise-grade performance across AWS and Azure ecosystems. The role combines deep hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, spanning full lifecycle management from deployment to optimization. You will contribute to building resilient, self-healing systems while enforcing strong automation and governance standards. Operating within a global, fast-paced infrastructure environment, you will collaborate with multiple engineering and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions. This position is ideal for a seasoned cloud engineer passionate about automation, reliability, and large-scale distributed systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of public cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Define, implement, and enforce enterprise-grade standards for cloud infrastructure automation and operational excellence.
  • Drive large-scale, zero-downtime maintenance activities across hybrid and multi-region environments.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop automation and self-healing mechanisms to improve system reliability.
  • Lead cloud account takeover initiatives, ensuring alignment with well-architected frameworks and internal standards.
  • Optimize monitoring systems to reduce alert fatigue and ensure actionable, high-quality operational signals.
  • Provide advanced engineering support and complex troubleshooting for customer and internal cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on the deployment and evolution of customer and internal infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventative and corrective actions.
  • Ensure technical governance, high-quality documentation, and adherence to operational best practices.
  • Present technical designs, architectural improvements, and service enhancements to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent while contributing to standards and best practices across teams.
  • Requirements:

    • At least 6 years of experience in cloud or virtual infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management.
    • Strong experience architecting and operating multi-cloud or hybrid environments at scale.
    • Proven track record of leading large data center migrations to public cloud platforms.
    • Deep expertise in highly available, multi-region architectures with disaster recovery and failover design.
    • Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) certification.
    • Strong understanding of hosting infrastructure components such as firewalls, server hardware, and networking concepts.
    • Familiarity with telecom and hosting technologies, including IP, MPLS, and VoIP.
    • Solid experience with ITIL-based operational processes and enterprise hosting environments.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Linux systems and their integration in enterprise environments.
    • Experience working in complex, high-availability infrastructure environments.
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to lead troubleshooting and problem resolution in critical situations.
    • Advanced cloud certifications (AWS Professional, Azure Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Architect) are a strong plus.
    • Additional certifications in RedHat, Microsoft, or NetApp are beneficial.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior-level expertise.
      • Hybrid and global infrastructure exposure across large-scale enterprise environments.
      • Opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical cloud transformation programs.
      • Continuous learning and certification support in leading cloud technologies.
      • Exposure to multi-cloud, hybrid, and cutting-edge automation practices.
      • Strong technical career progression within a global engineering organization.
      • Collaborative environment with highly experienced infrastructure and cloud experts.
      • Rotational on-call structure with stable business hours organization.
