This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Blockchain Security Developer (Canton) in Croatia.
This role sits at the forefront of next-generation institutional blockchain infrastructure, focused on building secure, production-grade DeFi primitives for a highly advanced distributed ledger ecosystem. You will lead the design and implementation of core smart contract libraries and reference applications that will define how developers build on a privacy-preserving, institutional-grade network. The position blends deep protocol engineering, security research, and product ownership in a highly collaborative, AI-augmented development environment. You will work on foundational primitives such as lending, DEX, stablecoin settlement, and auction systems, all designed for long-term reuse across an emerging ecosystem. This is a highly impactful role where your work will directly influence standards adopted by leading financial institutions and protocol teams. You will collaborate closely with protocol foundations, engineering partners, and security researchers in a fast-moving, research-driven setting. The environment is fully remote, globally distributed, and strongly focused on engineering excellence and adversarial thinking.
Accountabilities:
-
Lead the end-to-end development of a production-grade smart contract library for a Daml-based ecosystem, including vaults, RBAC systems, credentials, messaging gateways, and modular account primitives.
-
Architect and implement core DeFi reference applications such as privacy-preserving decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, cross-network stablecoin settlement systems, and confidential auction platforms.
-
Drive the implementation of key protocol standards and ensure compatibility across evolving ecosystem specifications in collaboration with external technical stakeholders.
-
Own technical roadmap discussions, milestone planning, and delivery coordination with multiple institutional and protocol partners.
-
Conduct deep security design reviews, threat modeling, and audit preparation in collaboration with internal security researchers and auditors.
-
Build and extend AI-native engineering workflows, including automation agents, evaluation systems, and security-focused tooling.
-
Apply AI-assisted techniques to enhance vulnerability discovery, invariant testing, fuzzing, and formal analysis.
-
Contribute insights and improvements back to protocol-level tooling, SDKs, and developer experience frameworks.
-
Engage in advanced research around privacy-preserving financial systems, multi-party authorization, and secure DeFi architecture.
Requirements:
-
Strong production experience with Daml, including building and shipping complex smart contract systems using templates, choices, and multi-party authorization patterns.
-
3+ years of experience working with UTXO-based or privacy-preserving blockchain architectures such as Canton, Cardano, Mina, Zcash, or similar systems.
-
3+ years of hands-on DeFi engineering experience, including building primitives like AMMs, lending protocols, vault systems, or cross-chain settlement solutions.
-
Proven security-first mindset with demonstrated experience in auditing, hardening, or responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities in production systems.
-
Strong understanding of reusable protocol and SDK design patterns, including modular architectures, hooks, and extensible primitives.
-
Experience with cross-chain interoperability solutions and messaging protocols such as LayerZero, Wormhole, Chainlink CCIP, or similar technologies.
-
Familiarity with institutional-grade financial systems, including compliance flows, custody models, and credential-based authorization logic.
-
Daily use of AI-powered developer tools with proven experience building or integrating AI agents, automation pipelines, or evaluation frameworks.
-
Practical experience applying AI in security workflows such as fuzzing, static analysis enhancement, or vulnerability research.
-
Strong communication skills in English and ability to work directly with technical stakeholders.
-
High autonomy, ownership mindset, and ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments.
Nice to have:
-
Background in cryptography or financial engineering.
-
Experience in institutional finance, capital markets, or tokenized real-world assets.
-
Contributions to open-source blockchain or AI tooling projects.
-
Experience with non-EVM ecosystems such as Starknet, Aptos, Arbitrum Stylus, or Stellar.
Benefits:
-
Fully remote work with global collaboration opportunities
-
Flexible time off and strong work-life balance support
-
Paid parental leave
-
Home office equipment stipend (up to 500 USD)
-
Medical insurance coverage
-
Learning and development support
-
Regular in-person global team gatherings
-
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge blockchain and AI-native infrastructure
