Your Responsibilities
Job OverviewGisma is looking for a Full-Time On-Campus German Tutor to teach students across all proficiency levels (A1–C2). The ideal candidate will deliver dynamic, in-person lessons, create engaging learning experiences, prepare and administer exams, mark student assessments, and help students achieve language mastery while actively contributing to the campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Teach German language courses on-campus from beginner (A1) to advanced (C2) levels.
- Design and implement interactive lesson plans tailored to different learning styles and goals.
- Prepare exams, quizzes, and other assessment materials.
- Mark assignments, exams, and projects accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Conduct assessments to track and support student progress.
- Foster a motivating, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Incorporate cultural knowledge and real-life communication into lessons.
- Support extracurricular language initiatives, workshops, and student activities on campus.
- Maintain accurate student records and participate in faculty meetings and curriculum development.
- Contribute to student retention, progression, and integration through language support
Your profile
- Native or near-native proficiency in German.
- Proven experience teaching German across multiple levels (A1–C2).
- Required academic qualification (e.g., MA in German as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, Education, or equivalent)
- Recognised teaching certification (e.g., DaF/DaZ qualification)
This is important for accreditation credibility. - Experience preparing exams and marking student work, Alignment with CEFR framework
- Adherence to institutional assessment regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students in an on-campus setting.
- Familiarity with modern teaching tools and classroom technology is a plus.
- Experience teaching international students
- Experience preparing for TELC/TestDaF/Goethe exams
- English proficiency (since most students are international)
