The Ministry of Community Safety has a career opportunity for a client service-oriented individual at the Paul Dojack Youth Center as a Team Leader. The Centre is located in Regina and provides a developmental program and care for secure custody, open custody and remanded males and females ages 12 to 17 under the Youth Criminal Justice Act as well as other federal and provincial acts.
As a Team Leader, you will report to a Unit Deputy Director and will work as part of a team, providing programming which includes safety, security and supervision. We are seeking an individual who will provide positive leadership and direction, assessment, counselling, case management services and custodial supervision to youth in custody.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, social work principles and practices, methodologies of assessing and providing case management to adolescents and adolescent development and the impact of influencing factors. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to recognize potential risks to safety and the well-being of self, clients, staff and community with the ability to de-escalate crisis situations. The successful candidate must be a positive role model for youth and have values that include integrity, respect and service excellence.
Typically, a university degree in the** Social Sciences** or closely related discipline, a diploma in Correctional Studies, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
