The Ministry of Community Safety requires a motivated, self-confident and client-service oriented individual to fill a permanent Team Lead position in the Regina Community Corrections office.
A Team Lead maintains shared responsibility in collaboration with in-scope supervisors to administer and organize unit schedules, meetings and case assignments. Team Leads also provide guidance, coaching, mentorship, instruction and support to new employees and practicum students. As a sentence management expert, you will provide training and an advanced level of support to staff to ensure accuracy of sentence calculations. You will also be responsible for oversight of the service provider program.聽As a Team Lead, you will design, develop and deliver presentations in your role as an associate trainer to ministry staff and community stakeholders.聽 聽聽
Team Leads are responsible for the validated generalized and specialized risk assessments and case management of Youth and/or Adult clients. Your outstanding interpersonal skills will help you respond effectively with victims of criminal offences, collaborate with community agencies, victim resources, police and other government personnel to provide an integrated approach to offender management and supervision in the community. You will participate in regional committees.聽
To qualify, you will possess a degree from an accredited university or college; or a minimum two-year diploma, with a focus on the principles of behavioural change and other assessment skills, this would include Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work or Mental Health; or meet the grandfathering provisions in accordance with Community Corrections qualifications. If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you must have it assessed against Canadian education standards.
As a field employee, you may be required to work non-traditional hours to provide client service in the office and in community settings (i.e., court, home visits, etc.). A valid driver鈥檚 license is required for the position.
