The Ministry of Health鈥檚 Primary Care Branch has an exciting opportunity for a professional, collaborative and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Reporting to the Director of Operational Support, the Senior Program Consultant will facilitate partnership and collaboration with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and other health system partners to integrate and align initiatives and existing primary health care programs and policies to support provincial Primary Health Care (PHC) strategic goals and objectives.
You will champion a comprehensive understanding of provincial PHC strategic goals and initiatives. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction in the delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of PHC programs and services. You will work collaboratively to foster strong partnerships with the SHA, Northern Medical Services (NMS) at the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, and other health system partners to address local operational challenges and improve access to primary care across the province.
Your responsibilities will include recommending priorities for resource allocation and service enhancements across Saskatchewan鈥檚 38 health networks. You will identify system needs and develop policy or regulatory options that support implementation of provincial PHC strategies, including removing operational barriers. Additionally, you will lead the development and ongoing oversight of contracts and funding agreements with selected third parties, such as community clinics, NMS, and independent nurse practitioners.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this role are obtained through a graduate degree in public policy, health administration, health sciences, or a related field, complemented by relevant professional experience.
