The Provincial Court of Saskatchewan is seeking an Executive Legal Officer with superior legal skills and leadership abilities.
The Executive Legal Officer acts as in-house counsel to the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court and provides legal advice on matters of general application to the Provincial Court including procedural, substantive, and administrative issues within the Court鈥檚 jurisdiction.
The responsibilities include providing legal advice to the Chief Judge on complex matters of law and contentious public issues that affect Court operations; participating on various judicial committees; preparing Practice Directives, Administrative Notices and Court policies; and advising on the collection of statistics and analysis of statistics respecting Court activities.聽
Reporting to the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court, this position requires the exercise of intelligence, initiative and sensitivity in dealing with judiciary in Saskatchewan and other jurisdictions, federal and provincial government officials, the legal profession, the media and the general public.
