The Internship
This is an exciting internship for those of you who would like to experience consulting work in the complex and exciting world of Economic and Financial Consulting at FTI. We are looking for motivated, analytical and highly numerate individuals from all academic backgrounds to join our market-leading team based in Stockholm, starting in September 2026.

In FTI Consulting’s Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) practice, we help our clients navigate legal, regulatory and international arbitration proceedings while supporting strategic decision-making and public policy debates around the world. About the Role
In Economic & Financial Consulting, we provide expert advice on economics, finance, valuation and accountancy, both in complex commercial disputes and in industries undergoing regulatory change.
As part of our commitment to growth in the Nordic region, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team in Stockholm, where our office serves as a key hub for everything we do across the Nordics and beyond. With more than a decade of experience in Sweden, we have built strong relationships and a solid reputation for solving complex challenges, ranging from disputes and investigations to valuations and infrastructure projects. Our existing offices have successfully addressed significant matters across the Nordics, and we are eager to deepen our investment in the region by establishing and growing our physical presence in Sweden.

What You’ll Do
Our interns play a key role in our project teams by performing industry research and developing the knowledge and experience required to conduct detailed economic analysis and financial modelling to solve the most complex questions. They benefit significantly from working closely with managers and other team members in small teams, as well as from direct exposure to some of the top experts in the industry.
After comprehensive training, your day-to-day tasks will include:

Preparing and reviewing financial models using Excel and financial databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ

Using statistical software packages to perform econometric analysis of industry and market data

Researching companies, markets or geographies to understand which industry features are relevant to the project

Reviewing the regulatory landscape and drawing parallels with our clients’ industries

Summarising your work in emails or memos, clearly presenting your results and drawing relevant conclusions

Taking responsibility for the quality of the final product

Working on cross-country projects with our teams in London and Sweden

Being an integral part of the team and working closely with our experts

During your internship, and as part of your master’s degree, you will work on a designated project. You will receive full support from a Mentor and Buddy who will guide you with their expertise.

Basic Skills and Qualifications

Final year of a master’s degree in a quantitative subject (such as Finance & Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or similar)

Experience in a quantitative-focused field through internships (we are open to candidates with more experience, particularly those from a valuation background)

A basic understanding of core financial models and how to build them
-
Fluent English language skills (verbal and written)
-
Swedish language skills preferable but not essential
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

ACA, CFA or another relevant qualification in finance or economics would be beneficial, or an interest in working towards such a qualification

Prior experience working in an economic disputes team may be advantageous but is not required
Our Application Process
Applications will open on 10 February and close on 25 February 2026.
Step 1: Complete our online application form and submit your CV (no cover letter required).
Step 2: Between 2–9 March 2026, complete online numerical and verbal reasoning tests and answer two pre-recorded, motivation-based questions. Your responses should demonstrate an understanding of our work and a passion for FTI.
Step 3: Between 16–27 March 2026, candidates will attend a competency-based and case interview with the team.
Step 4: By 14 April 2026, we will submit our shortlist to the university.
Step 5: By 18 April 2026, offers will be extended to successful candidates.
Step 6: The internship will run from 1 September to 18 December 2026.
