Global Portfolio & Innovation Senior Manager Location: Amsterdam Hybrid Why this role matters This role exists to enable delivery of the global Product & Portfolio / Innovation mandate at pace and with quality. While the ambition is explicitly global, today’s resources and ways of working remain predominantly regional. Acting as a force multiplier to the Global VP Product & Portfolio, this role closes that structural gap by ensuring coherent, enterprise‑level orchestration of innovation, portfolio and P&P ways of working, reducing dependency on individual bandwidth and enabling a scalable, future‑fit global system. Role Impact You will operate as the enterprise engine behind the global P&P and innovation agenda. Under the direction of the VP, you ensure the global innovation pipeline is consumer‑led, platform‑based, prioritized and executable. By simplifying end‑to‑end P&P (including innovation model and gatekeeping), and by actively connecting and running cross‑regional workstreams, you materially improve speed, focus, decision quality and portfolio value across NA, EU and EM. What You’ll Do Orchestrate and continuously prioritise the global innovation portfolio, ensuring focus on fewer, bigger, higher‑value initiatives while eliminating duplication and low‑impact activity. Design, implement and embed a simplified, fit‑for‑purpose P&P and innovation gatekeeping model, including clear decision criteria, ownership, decision‑rights, templates, governance cadence and execution tracking. Actively run and connect cross‑regional workstreams across NA, EU and EM, tracking progress, surfacing risks early and ensuring follow‑through against enterprise priorities. Prepare high‑quality, insight‑driven materials for senior leadership forums (ExCo, IBP, etc.), improving transparency, decision speed and portfolio quality. Build scalable playbooks, frameworks and reporting tools that strengthen innovation discipline, improve commercial logic, and enable consistent enterprise execution without reliance on individual heroics. About You You combine strategic depth with operational excellence. You are comfortable operating at enterprise level while staying close enough to the detail to ensure disciplined execution. You are effective as a “right hand” to senior leadership, anticipating needs, shaping work, and driving outcomes, without becoming a layer or bottleneck. You bring 8–12+ years across portfolio management, innovation, strategy or transformation, ideally in FMCG or consumer‑driven environments. You are a systems thinker who translates consumer insight into scalable growth platforms, understanding how disciplined product and portfolio decisions shape the food brands people choose every day.
