Regional Manufacturing Director – Europe (m,f,d)   

 

Are you ready to lead manufacturing performance at a regional scale? As Regional Manufacturing Director Europe, reporting within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) function for the Consumer Tissue business unit, you will lead a complex manufacturing network, ensuring reliable supply, strong alignment with business priorities, and a shared culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across Europe. 

About the Role

The role is accountable for the strategic leadership and overall performance of the Manufacturing organization and its sites within the Consumer Tissue business unit across Europe. The role ensures strong alignment with business objectives and leads the execution of End-to-End Integrated Supply Chain strategies. The position drives operational excellence at scale, optimizes manufacturing performance, service level and asset utilization, and embeds a culture of continuous improvement, safety and accountability across Europe.

What You Will Do

  • Defines, drives, and delivers Supply Chain performance targets for the Consumer Tissue Manufacturing organization across Europe  

  • Partners with the Total Productive Maintenance Team to drive TPM across Europe and reinforce leadership in the plants 

  • Shapes and executes Integrated Supply Chain performance and service targets in line with Business Unit strategy, optimizing manufacturing performance at European level 

  • Ensures full compliance with corporate policies, standards and governance guidelines across all Consumer Tissue manufacturing sites in Europe  

  • Leads, manages and coordinates all manufacturing activities across Europe, ensuring alignment with Consumer Tissue business objectives and functional targets 

  • Develops and evaluates initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and performance, focusing on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as manufacturing costs and investment utilization  

  • Drives operational excellence and service reliability by improving manufacturing processes, productivity, cost efficiency and capital utilization with clear ownership of KPI’s and investment outcomes. 

  • Shapes and continuously evolves the Manufacturing function in Europe to meet quality, time, cost and cash requirements  

  • Monitors internal and external technology trends, proactively proposing adjustments to strengthen manufacturing and supply chain performance  

  • Partners closely with Supply Chain, Technology, Quality and Business Unit Leadership to set ambitious performance and service targets and lead continues improvement initiatives end-to-end  

  • Acts as a role-model leader, accountable for performance and consequence management, talent development, coaching and capability building within the European Manufacturing organization.  

Who You Are

  • University degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field 

  • 10–15 years of experience in Manufacturing, ideally within the Tissue industry, in complex, multinational organizations; including 7+ years of proven leadership experience leading and developing large operational teams  

  • Proven experience in deploying manufacturing excellence methodologies (e.g. TPM, Lean) beyond foundational levels, with demonstrated and measurable results achieved through full or large-scale implementations  

  • Proven track record of leading and implementing a safety program 

  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain and manufacturing best practices, with an end-to-end operational perspective  

  • Proven change management experience, with the ability to lead operational and cultural transformations  

  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and develop teams  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment  

  • Willingness to travel regularly across manufacturing sites

Location

The position can be based in any of the large Essity offices/sites in Europe, preferably in Munich (Germany) or Barcelona (Spain).
