Business Development Manager
We are now accelerating our focus on the private sector and seeking new growth through large-scale investment projects.
We are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team and contribute to driving Adapteo Finland’s growth in the private sector.
Our ambition is to enter earlier in the customer journey, influence what is being bought, and win larger, more complex projects.
About the role
As a Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to identify investment opportunities early, build relationships, and create a qualified pipeline before projects enter the tender phase.
You will play a key role in moving opportunities from initial idea to active opportunity and sales execution. In this role, you will actively engage with customers and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
You will:

Act as the face of Adapteo and represent the company in customer meetings and events.

Identify and map upcoming investment projects and growth initiatives in selected segments

Engage early with customers to understand investment plans, timelines, and decision-making structures

Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and influencers

Support evaluating whether opportunities fit Adapteo’s strategy and offering

Participate in shaping customer needs and positioning Adapteo’s solution before formal procurement begins

Develop and qualify leads into a structured pipeline (typically 6–24 months ahead of demand)

Work closely with Sales to ensure a smooth transition from BD to sales execution and deal closing

Support the sales team in early-phase discussions and ensure we enter opportunities with a strong position
What we are looking for
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded individual who is motivated to grow within business development and complex sales environments.
You are a hands-on and driven professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to turn ideas into action. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving real operational challenges, and feel comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders across countries.
You build relationships easily, communicate clearly, and approach your work in a structured and goal-oriented way. You take ownership, drive things forward, and are not afraid to challenge and improve existing ways of working.
You likely have:

A relevant university degree and fluent Finnish and English skills (Swedish skills are considered an advantage but are not required).

Experience in sales, business development, management consulting or a commercial role (1-5 years)

Interest in large investment projects and complex customer environments

Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into opportunities

Strong interpersonal and networking skills
