Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
• Lead AI-assisted exploration: generate and refine visual directions, brand imagery explorations, storyframes, motion studies, and rapid iterations to help teams converge on a direction quickly.
• Build scalable creative systems: develop and maintain reusable templates and toolkits (campaign kits, social/event packages, presentation frameworks, motion template libraries) that improve consistency and throughput.
• Elevate motion craft in execution: set a high bar within assigned initiatives through hands-on design, feedback, and polish (typography-in-motion, transitions, pacing, clarity, modern brand expression).
• Run focused reviews and critique: provide clear, actionable feedback that keeps work moving, reduces thrash, and improves first-pass quality, escalating when necessary.
• Operationalize responsible AI practices: apply established guardrails, document workflows (prompt/preset libraries, provenance notes where needed), and flag risks early (brand safety, usage constraints).
• Coach and enable others: mentor designers on motion craft and AI workflows; share playbooks, examples, and “how we did it” documentation to raise the team’s capability.
• Lead special projects as assigned: take point on time-sensitive, high-visibility workstreams, owning coordination, quality, and delivery readiness in partnership with project leads and the Creative Director.
• Partner with the Creative Director to interpret briefs into motion/visual concept routes, bringing strong taste and clear recommendations.
• Manage partners as needed: coordinate freelancers/vendors for execution support while maintaining creative consistency and quality.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Motion Design, Visual Communication, Film/Animation, Graphic Design, or related field.
• 8+ years in motion/visual design and brand storytelling, including concept development and multi-channel work.
• 2+ years in a lead/manager/player-coach capacity (mentoring, directing contributors or vendors, running critiques).
• Demonstrated proficiency using generative AI tools/workflows for concepting, imagery exploration, rapid iteration, and template/system building.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to move work forward in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Other Qualifications:
• Track record building and maintaining template ecosystems and reusable creative systems adopted by multiple teams.
• Strong understanding of brand governance and quality standards across channels (web, social, campaigns, events, internal/executive comms).
• Working knowledge of accessibility considerations for motion/content (readability, captions/subtitles, reduced-motion awareness).
• Experience with creative automation/versioning/localization workflows is a plus.
• Experience directing external partners while maintaining craft quality and alignment.
