Job Summary
The Internal, External and Issues Country Communications Associate Manager will develop and execute communication strategies—including internal, external (primarily proactive earned media) and issues communications—that resonate across diverse cultural contexts while aligning to DXC’s corporate narrative and campaigns and meeting regulatory requirements. Acting as the primary link between global strategy and local execution, this role ensures messaging is consistent, culturally attuned and compliant across key country markets to help drive employee engagement, build and manage DXC’s reputation and ultimately support DXC’s growth objective in a specific country or group of countries. This role ensures clear, timely, and culturally relevant communication that aligns global objectives with local execution, reinforcing company values and supporting business continuity. It reports to Global Communications.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications – Country Leader Communication support: Organize and facilitate country leader town halls for employees (quarterly) and people managers (as needed), with standard town hall guidance (incl. coordination of agenda, speakers, content, invitation, as well as facilitation and post-event surveys). Develop and deliver country-specific announcements, policy updates, people manager business updates and organizational changes as required.
External Communications – Proactive and reactive earned media engagement: Engage with global External Communications team to develop relevant press releases and other media materials that align to corporate narrative and campaign priorities. Build and execute a proactive earned media engagement strategy to ensure DXC is well covered in local media. Act to ensure incoming media queries are addressed and DXC is included in positive coverage.
Issues Communications: Partner with the Global Issues Communications Lead to manage stakeholder communications during crises, coordinating with HR, Legal, Employment Law, Ethics & Compliance, DXC Resiliency, business leaders and other stakeholders as needed to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination and compliance with local laws and regulations. Member of local Crisis Management Teams (CMT).
Executive Communications support: Collaborate with local leaders on a range of external communications initiatives including media interviews, local events and thought leadership.
Localized Messaging: Adapt global communications for local language and cultural context. Manage messaging related to Works Councils, unions and regulatory requirements while ensuring alignment with global standards.
Translation: Translate global internal and external communications including press releases, media talking points, social media posts, thought leadership articles etc. into local languages and local content into English for approvals.
On-Demand Communications: Prepare and deliver country-specific announcements, press releases, organizational updates, policy changes, and regulatory information. Maintain high-quality standards for all local content.
Partnering with Global External Communications, this role includes external communications as required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
Proven experience in Marketing and Communications, preferably in a multinational environment.
Strong proficiency in strategic communication planning and execution.
Strong writing skills applicable to range of communications content.
Demonstrated ability to adapt messaging for diverse cultural contexts.
Continuous learner who stays abreast of industry knowledge and technology.
Fluency in English and German.
Other Qualifications
Experience in crisis communications. Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
Familiarity with European labor laws and Works Councils processes.
Relevant certifications (e.g., internal communications, change management) or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of additional languages (Nordic, Eastern European languages) is highly desirable.
