Job description
We’re looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our growing team in Budapest, Hungary. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain applications that drive our organization’s core business processes.
You will primarily focus on back‑end development using Java and Spring technologies (Spring, Spring Boot), working with PostgreSQL databases in a microservices architecture.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, enjoys collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and is enthusiastic about modern technologies – including AI‑driven solutions – to deliver meaningful business impact.
Our close‑knit team of 7+ engaged colleagues in Hungary works on a robust, business‑critical system that creates and manages offers and orders for BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) transmission paths. The system covers the full lifecycle from business case validation through order processing to production handover.
Due to ongoing development and growing demand, we are expanding the team with 4 additional developers.
The application enables the configuration and ordering of connection products from our portfolio. The team plays a key role in modernizing the architecture, while continuously supporting and extending existing functionality.
While we are building new Spring Boot‑based microservices, a significant part of the work also involves developing, improving, and modernizing an existing system.
To succeed in this role, it is essential that developers can quickly understand existing codebases, identify improvement opportunities, and confidently enhance them while ensuring system stability.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Work with PostgreSQL in a microservices environment
- Develop new functionalities and improve existing application components
- Understand, refactor, and optimize existing code
- Actively contribute to architecture modernization
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and fellow developers
- Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices
