Mission
The Laboratory of Molecular Microbiolgy at the EPFL, Switzerland, is offering a position for a junior laboratory technician (0-6 years of experience) to support the team's research activities.
The group's research focuses on bacterial genetics, phage biology, and the molecular mechanisms that drive bacterial evolution, adaptation and horizontal gene transfer.
Main duties and responsibilities

Provide technical support for ongoing scientific projects.

Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team of technical assistants.

Perform microbiological and molecular biology experiments under supervision.

Report experimental progress and results to scientific team members and the principal investigator.

Contribute to routine laboratory organization and maintenance.
Profile

Diploma of a lab technician school, école cantonale de laborant/e or equivalent.

Excellent record keeping, experimental documentation, and organizational skills.

Detail-oriented and highly motivated with a can-do attitude.

Sterile working techniques and excellent microbiological skills are required.

Expertise in molecular biology (nucleic acid isolations, PCR, cloning, qRT-PCR) are a plus.

Openness to learn and develop new techniques and protocols.

Language requirement: English and French.
