BBIS has an opening for a Teacher of IBDP Chemistry or Biology/IBMYP Science (f/m/d).
Location: Kleinmachnow (Berlin region)
Full-time: 30 teaching units per week / 40 working hours per week
Start date: 1st. August 2026
Limited initially until 31st July 2028
Vacation: Time off during school holidays, offering up to 60 days of paid leave per calendar year (comprising your statutory annual leave, supplementary leave, and institutional non-working days).
Salary range: €55,059 - €61,885 gross/year (based on experience/classification) plus annual CPI-based adjustments/potential responsibility stipends
About this role:
We are seeking an energetic, internationally-minded Science Teacher committed to academic excellence, inclusive practice, and holistic education. You will teach IBDP and IBMYP Science (incorporating disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), inspiring students from grades 6 to 12 to become inquisitive, analytical, and critical thinkers through hands-on inquiry and the scientific method.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES

Instruction & Practical Work: Teach IBDP/IBMYP Science, fostering a safe, secure, and stimulating laboratory and classroom environment. Incorporate varied instructional models, practical experiments, and assessment methods to optimize student learning.

Laboratory Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations during all practical experiments and maintain a secure lab environment for all students.

Development: Lead the development of inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum units that connect scientific theory with real-world applications.

Inclusion: Value and make productive use of the diversity of cultures and perspectives within our community, ensuring students of all backgrounds feel represented and supported in STEM.

Engagement: Motivate and inspire students to be actively engaged in their own learning, guiding them to evaluate scientific evidence and ethics critically.

Support: Promote student well-being and academic growth across a diverse range of motivations and abilities using effective differentiation strategies.

Collaboration & Community: Plan collaboratively across disciplines and participate actively in the school community, including commitment to a homeroom/advisor role and extra-curricular activities.

Specialized Teaching: Supervise IB Science Internal Assessments (IAs) and the Collaborative Sciences Project. Ideally, contribute to Theory of Knowledge (ToK) instruction, Personal Project, Extended Essay, and CAS.
YOUR QUALIFICATION

Education: Teaching certification, preferably with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science).

Experience: Experience teaching the IBDP/IBMYP programme or similar backgrounds (AP, A-Level, IGCSE); international school and dedicated laboratory experience is a plus.

Communication: Outstanding written and spoken English communication skills.
