Position Overview
The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a Cafeteria Worker to join our food service team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff, while maintaining a clean and welcoming cafeteria environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to food safety, teamwork, and positive interactions with the school community.
Key Responsibilities
The Cafeteria Worker will:

Serve meals to students and staff which includes identifying reimbursable meals.

Assist in food preparation in an efficient and sanitary manner as required.

Follow the cafeteria clean-up schedule after meal service.

Complete records pertaining to area as well as placing necessary orders (bread, milk, produce, etc.).

Wash dishes, utensils, etc.
-
Comply with kitchen sanitation and safety standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services.
Education Requirements
Minimum: High School Diploma/GED

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Able to hear with 40 decibel loss maximum.

Able to see with acuity of 20 inches or less and far acuity of at least 20 feet normal depth perception, field of vision and accommodation.

Able to reach above and below the waist, walk and use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects.

Requires use of both hands for repetitive motion.

Able to bend and twisting of the body required.

Ability to Lift/Carry/Push supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.

Able to work in a kitchen environment with extreme temperatures including heat exposure due to cooking, and cold exposure due to coolers/freezers.

Able to stand ninety percent (90%) of workday.

The noise level in this environment is generally moderate to loud.
