Investment Director – Private Debt (m/f/d)
The Role
As Director, you will own end-to-end execution from origination through closing, and play a material role in the fundraising, portfolio management and investments with credible deal and structuring expertise.
Your responsibilities
Lead transactions end-to-end, drive diligence, underwriting, term sheet negotiation, documentation process management, and closing across external counsel, sponsors, and management teams.
Structure private debt outcomes: design and negotiate economics and protections including pricing, warrant coverage, covenants, collateral package, conditions precedent, and information rights; consistent with private debt’s multi-component structures and risk controls.
Own IC-ready outputs: draft and present investment committee materials with clear downside framing, scenario analysis, and structure rationale.
Develop repeatable sponsor coverage: build and maintain relationships across VC and growth sponsors, venture ecosystem counterparts to sustain pipeline suited.
Fundraising and LP interaction: representing the investment team to fundraising diligence and maintaining institutional-grade data room quality and message consistency. Explain deal discipline, underwriting approach, and case studies. Own diligence narrative.
Coordinate across the platform: partner with legal, compliance, fund ops, IR to ensure robust processes, clean documentation, and best-practice operations.
Your qualifications
University Degree (Bachelor or Master)
8-12+ years in private debt, growth credit, tech-focused private credit, or leveraged finance with demonstrable responsibility for leading transactions and negotiating terms.
Strong mastery of private debt structuring levers including warrants, covenants, collateral, etc. and downside risk mitigation.
Proven ability to run complex multi-party processes with disciplined execution and time-to-close focus.
Fundraising diligence fluency: experience in contributing to DDQs, data rooms, and LP engagement, aligned to institutional expectations for transparency, governance, and repeatable process quality.
Able to convert complex credit concepts into clear IC and LP-ready narratives
Open-minded and fast to adapt in new and complex environments
Excellent written and verbal communication in English and German.
