Alvotech is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join the Potency & Binding team within our R&D organization.
We are looking for a hands-on professional with strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a high level of accuracy.
This role involves laboratory work supporting the development of biopharmaceutical products across all stages of the pipeline, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Scope and Responsibilities

Perform sample analysis using cell-based potency assays and binding assays to support product development across all stages.

Develop, optimize, qualify, and validate potency assay methods.

Work with mammalian cell culture techniques, including cell line handling, propagation, and cell bank preparation.

Conduct and support bioassays for biosimilars and biologics sample analysis.

Utilize and support SPR-based techniques (Surface Plasmon Resonance), where applicable.

Perform and interpret ELISA-based assays (cell-free assays are an advantage).

Contribute to potency-related software specification and validation.

Ensure work is conducted in compliance with GMP and relevant regulatory guidelines.

Maintain laboratory records with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.

Support lab operations, including inventory management.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements

Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Life Sciences or a related field.

Proven experience in potency assay development and method qualification/validation.

Strong experience in mammalian cell culture and bioassay techniques.

Experience with biosimilar/biologics analytical testing.

Knowledge of SPR techniques is highly advantageous.

Experience with ELISA (cell-free assays is a plus).

Familiarity with GMP environment and regulatory expectations.

Strong data handling, documentation, and reporting skills.

Excellent attention to detail with a structured and organized work approach.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
