Division Description
Department Description
The heavy lift department is responsible for the concept, basic and detailed engineering phases for the removal or installation of topsides and jacket structures up to 60,000 tonnes for both the oil & gas, and renewables industries. This department performs all the engineering and feasibility analyses for a safe and economical project execution by Allseas heavy lift fleet. This entails to design, analyse, and provide working procedures, material take off- and offshore engineering support for the various phases of the installation or removal.
The heavy lift department consists of a creative and multidisciplinary mix of Heavy Lift Engineers, Structural Engineers, Naval Engineers and Draftsmen who work together in multidisciplinary Agile teams, while their supervisors monitor the mono-disciplinary work content and personal development of its employees.
Unit Scope
The Heavy lift Project Engineering unit is part of the Heavy lift Engineering department and provides Project Engineers to the Agile teams. The unit has extensive heavy lift experience and utilises this to prepare projects in the most effective way.
Discipline Description
Heavy lift engineers have a wide range of tasks covering the provision of technical solutions as well as writing operational procedures and provision of offshore support. This includes: design of topsides and jacket lift plans, destruct zones, (subsea) separation scopes, conductor removal, load transfer operations, platform preparations and completions, TLS-, JLS-, and crane operation and rigging, provision of client design input.
As heavy lift engineer you are responsible for:

Design and engineering: provision of solutions to facilitate the project with safe, reliable and innovative designs and procedures, ranging from renewable installation projects, topsides and jacket removal preparations and execution.

Support and stakeholder management: Working in a multi-disciplinary team environment aligning your work with the project engineer and the various stakeholders. Contribute to departmental development. Provision of offshore support during project execution on vessel or yard.

Documentation for approval: Preparation of documentation for projects, studies and tenders covering the technical solutions, calculations, method statements and operational procedures ensuring they meet safety, performance and regulatory standards for class and/or client approval.
