**TITLE: **School Social Worker
**QUALIFICATIONS: **Certification by the State Department of Education as a Social Worker; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
**REPORTS TO: **Special Education Coordinator and Supervisor of Special Education
**JOB GOAL: **To provide school/home services to students.
**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: **10-Month
**EVALUATION: **Performance evaluation annually in accordance with Allen Parish School Board Personnel Plan
**COMPENSATION: **In accordance with Allen Parish School Board Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Explains and interprets school social work services to parents, teachers, principals, and other members of the parish school system.
2. Facilitates communication between the home and the school, seeking to involve families in the educational process of their children and providing feedback to the school on family situations and problems.
3. Provides consultative services to the families of and, when necessary, counseling services to students who are experiencing problems in social and behavioral functioning at school which result from circumstances or events present in the home.
4. Serves as liaison between the school and community agencies, through reciprocal referral arrangements, collaboration on cases, and assistance to families in obtaining and utilizing local resources.
5. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary pupil appraisal team in the conduct of evaluations of referred children when social, developmental, adaptive behavior, and/or family assessments are determined necessary.
6. Interprets social assessment findings to parents, teachers, principals, and other professional parish personnel and responsible practitioners outside the school.
7. Requests and interprets medical information for pupil appraisal team as part of multidisciplinary evaluations.
8. Produces a written report of any social work assessments or other services provided to clients.
9. Provides or assists in the provision of in-service training of school personnel in areas of responsibility and expertise.

Oversee all responsibilities associated with PBIS.

Maintains accurate case records on all clients regarding their referral, evaluation, and any other services provided by the social worker in accordance with the requirements of parish, state and federal laws, regulations, and/or policies.

Gain approval from the supervisor for any time off of work. Out-of-state trip must be placed on the School Board agenda and approved by the Board.

Support, implement, assist with, and/or ensure application of district initiatives and other programs or directives of the Superintendent and Board.

Keep the principal and/or direct supervisor informed of the progress being made in the area(s) of responsibility.

Keep abreast professionally by attending local, regional, state, or national meetings and/or staff development that address area(s) of responsibility as directed by the SPED Coordinator/Supervisor.

Collaborate with district leadership, administrators and teachers to analyze data, establish goals and develop plans with action steps and a means to monitor effectiveness.

Complete and submit all forms, reports, documentation, and training by required dates and in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Attend graduations, banquets, concerts and awards as needed or directed.

Attend school board and/or committee meetings as needed or directed.

Support crisis management plans during situations that warrant as needed or directed.

Follow the specific requirements established by the School Board (LEA), State Department of Education (SDE), the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (SBESE), and/or Federal regulations and guidelines established by each.

Perform any duty, not specifically assigned, as deemed necessary by the assigning authority in order to maintain continuity where needed.

Direct, coordinate, and/or supervise all students for whom you are responsible.

Participate in parent conferences, as needed.

Act as technical advisor and resource person to assist others in area(s) of responsibility.

Job description and duties subject to modification as needed. Perform such other tasks and assumes responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign.

Support the policies and procedures of the Allen Parish School Board.
