About the RoleAs part of the continued growth of our business in continental Europe, we are currently recruiting for a Sales Support role to join our Wholesale Business, as part of the Client Platform in our Frankfurt office.
This individual will be an integral member of the Global Wealth Management team supporting the business activities with a broad range of prospects and clients in Germany.
This sales support role provides centralized coordination of various functions to service and support the wealth team and enable the team to act as a trusted advisor across various entity types and client segments. The core of the sales support role is to ensure that the wealth team members are supported on their activities across client segments and client needs are met in a timely and accurate manner, in order to build stronger relationships and new partnerships with clients
Success in this role requires the sales support role to have the ability to be proactive in supporting our sales team in wholesale activities and looking to assess and support our prospect and cross-sale opportunities. In addition, to be the one stop shop for salesforce management to bring efficiency to client mailings, invitation processes and product specific updates. The sales support role will work with internal stakeholders to ensure we meet our clients’ expectations and to ensure deadlines are met. Presentation updates, client reporting and analysis are key and attention to detail is critical – the ability not only to pull data from the various applications available, but also to analyse the data and understand whether that data makes sense. The need to have the ability to work independently, in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities change frequently and deadlines often need to be met under significant pressure – in particular on an ad hoc request’s basis. Finally, the sales support role should have a solid knowledge of investments, such that they are able to fully understand, and respond to, client enquiries and requests.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESCommanding a thorough knowledge of our business, coupled with the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with wholesale clients (e.g. Banks, IFA, Sparkasse and fund of fund clients), the sales support role will work closely with all members of the German team, as well as many other functional areas of the firm, on a portfolio of assigned wholesale accounts in Frankfurt. He/she will conduct analysis of client portfolios, initiate investigations, respond to inquiries on a wide variety of topics, and perform other tasks as appropriate. The sales support role will coordinate prospect reporting, presentations, account maintenance, and ad hoc requests.
Principal responsibilities will include:
Coordination/Preparation of standard and/or customized client and prospect presentation materials, briefing books and collateral materials as well as meeting notes required for external meetings.
Participating in prospect meetings and conference calls as appropriate.
Conducting analysis, initiating investigations and responding to internal and external ad-hoc inquiries on a wide variety of topics, including portfolio and product specific information, performance and allocation data.
Coordinating key client communications.
Supporting the local wholesale sales team in the organisation of client roadshows and client review meetings.
Capturing and maintaining client data in relevant internal systems – e.g. Salesforce
Qualifying and coordinating Requests for Information (RFI’s) /Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and working with internal teams to ensure that each one receives the proper response.
Developing an understanding of the depth and breadth of Wellington Management’s investment approaches.
The successful candidate is likely to:
Have 1+ years of relevant client service or sales support experience, preferably gained within the Investment Management industry. Experience of working with wholesale clients would be highly advantageous.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of capital markets and/or investment products.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English language skills. Fluency in German is required.
Be self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic.
Be a natural collaborator who can work well in a small team.
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ad hoc and dynamic team environment.
The role will be based in Wellington’s Frankfurt, Germany office.
