The Purchasing team is an international team dedicated to deploying the company's purchasing strategies, engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders, analyzing market trends and identifying and solving commodity-related issues.
How will you make a difference?
As a EMEA Commodity Manager Diversified Products, reporting to the EMEA Regional Commodity Leader, you will be responsible for the Commodity strategy, deploying the guidelines in each Site, developing our Supplier base and driving suppliers performance review.
What will your typical day look like?
COMMODITY MANAGEMENT AND SUPPLIER PANEL
- Establishes / declines strategy for assigned commodity, incl. Make or Buy
- Develops technical and regional / supplier market intelligence for his/her commodities
- Is responsible for implementing the strategy through panel policy for assigned commodity
- Builds / qualifies / develops / manages the regional supplier panel for assigned commodity, incl. rationalization of panel
- Defines and deploys supplier risk assessments & sole, single, dual sourcing plans
- Drives Supplier performance review
- Defines raw material strategy
SRM
- Manages relationship with his/her regional suppliers, be the key point of contact for regional suppliers
- Drives and monitors the selection process of new suppliers
BUDGET / FORECAST
- Builds budget, forecast, STRAP for assigned commodity
- Monitors PPI savings on a monthly basis, drive action plans
RFQ (off cycle and serial life)
- Manages RFQ, offer evaluation, negotiation & contracting: frame agreements, off cycle and serial life contracts
- Optimizes PO payment terms and implement supplier RPA
PROJECT SOURCING
- Provides supplier vendor list to project buyers before RFQ
- Is responsible for Contracting for suppliers that are new for the site
- Contributes to final negotiations, ensuring leverage of scale effect across other ongoing projects
- Validates supplier selection from project buyers, participate to Project Sourcing Committee
OPERATIONAL
- Drives sourcing competitiveness initiatives for existing / standard parts, e.g. technical savings with Engineering, RFQ benchmark
- Is responsible for re-sourcing in serial life
- Is responsible for contract amendments and renegotiations
- Intervenes in major supplier issues escalated (after threshold to site sourcing specialist): COPQ / claims negotiations
What do we want to know about you?
- At least 5 years experience in Purchasing in a globalized industrial environment
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Fluent in English (other language is a plus)
- Skilled multi-cultural negotiator with good written and oral communications skills
- Curious, dynamic and adaptable person, able to work across matrix worldwide organization
- Knowledge of Commodity Diversified Products (Plastics, Springs, Glazing) is considered a plus
- Frequent travel trips (~ 25-40%)
