STARK is a new kind of defence technology company, revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective.
As a Prototyping & Additive Manufacturing Technician, you are the "maker" who brings our digital designs into the physical world. Reporting to our Workshop/Prototyping Lead, you will be the primary operator of our R&D workshop equipment.
Your mission is to be the go-to person for rapid part production. Whether it’s managing a high-volume FDM print job, post-processing a high-strength SLS part, or machining a custom aluminum fixture on the CNC portal, you ensure that our engineers have the parts they need to test and iterate. You are self-sufficient, hands-on, and thrive in an environment where every day brings a different technical challenge.
Additive Manufacturing & Print Farm Operations
Print Farm Management: Take ownership of our FDM and Resin printer fleet. You handle everything from slicing and starting jobs to routine maintenance.
SLS Production: Operate our large-scale SLS printer, managing the PA11 powder cycle and post-processing parts for high-strength applications.
Quality Control: Ensure that printed parts meet the required tolerances and functional needs of the R&D team.
Machining & Prototyping
CNC & Manual Machining: Operate our CNC portal machine, laser cutter, and manual lathe to produce one-off parts, fixtures, and components for UAVs and test stands.
Rapid Prototyping: Support the assembly of complex sub-systems, such as radio link towers or launcher interfaces.
Shop Support: Assist the Master in keeping the workshop functional. This includes organizing small parts, maintaining tools, and ensuring raw materials are ready for the next job.
Service & Efficiency
Task Execution: Efficiently manage a queue of "small jobs" (e.g., "machine this bracket," "print this housing") and provide realistic timelines to the engineering team.
Troubleshooting: Identify and solve issues with print failures or machining setups independently.
Experience & Background
Technical Training: Completed vocational training as a Modellbauer, Industriemechaniker, Feinwerkmechaniker, or a similar technical field.
Hands-on Experience: Proven track record in a workshop environment, ideally with a mix of additive manufacturing and traditional machining.
Technical Skills
Additive Expert: Deep interest and experience in 3D printing (FDM is a must; Resin and SLS are huge pluses).
Machinist Skills: Proficient in operating CNC machines and manual workshop tools. Experience with laser cutters is a benefit.
CAD/CAM Literacy is a plus: Ability to open designs in CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE and use slicing/CAM software to prepare jobs
Manual Dexterity: You are "handy" and enjoy the fine details of assembling prototypes and finishing parts.
Mindset & Working Style
Self-Sufficient: You see a job through from the initial request to the finished part with minimal supervision.
Adaptable: You enjoy the variety of R&D—one day you are post-processing PA11 parts, the next you are turning a shaft on the lathe.
Reliable: You understand that the engineering team depends on your speed and accuracy to hit their project milestones.
