What you'll build

 

As a Working Student – Tax & Accounting AI-driven Strategy & Transformation (f/m/d), you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and intelligent automation solutions across SAP’s accounting, reporting, and tax processes
• Proactively identify opportunities where AI, machine learning, and generative AI technologies can drive automation, efficiency, and strategic value
• Collaborate with GAR&T team members, Finance Process Managers, and IT teams to translate business requirements into AI solution concepts and prototypes
• Support the development and integration of AI-powered tools on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including leveraging services such as SAP AI Core, SAP Build, and Joule
• Assist in evaluating, testing, and iterating on AI agents and automation workflows through user acceptance testing (UAT) and end-to-end (E2E) validation
• Contribute to building a scalable AI transformation strategy and roadmap for SAP’s Global Accounting, Reporting, and Tax function, including documentation of use cases, architectures, and best practices
• Help foster an AI-first mindset within the GAR&T function by supporting knowledge sharing, upskilling initiatives, and demos of AI capabilities to non-technical stakeholders

 

What you bring

 

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), or a related technical field
• Strong foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and natural language processing (NLP)
• Hands-on experience or demonstrated ability in building AI agents, chatbots, or intelligent automation workflows (e.g. using LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, OpenAI API, or similar frameworks)
• Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant AI/ML libraries and tools
• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is a strong plus, including familiarity with SAP AI Core, SAP Build Process Automation, or SAP Integration Suite
• Familiarity with SAP ERP systems (e.g. S/4HANA, FI/CO modules) is advantageous
• Understanding of API design, cloud architectures, and modern software development practices (e.g. version control with Git, CI/CD basics)
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solution approaches and communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — an innovative "solution builder" rather than a "problem definer"
• Self-motivated, curious, and eager to explore emerging AI technologies and their application in enterprise finance contexts
• Team player with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Fluency in English is essential
• Working from the office in Walldorf or St. Leon-Rot is required regularly

As a Working Student – Tax & Accounting AI-driven Strategy and Transformation (f/m/d), you will actively contribute to SAP’s AI-driven digital transformation by designing, building, and deploying intelligent agents and AI-powered solutions that automate and optimize tax and accounting processes end-to-end — contributing directly to SAP’s strategic AI transformation.

 

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
