General

Ensures the preparation, through specific operations in accordance with Timken standards, of parts / material samples / bearing specimens received from material suppliers, Timken plants in Europe, and external customers, in order to analyze them and assess compliance with specifications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Receives, identifies, and prepares samples originating from material suppliers, Timken plants in Europe, or Timken customers, in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Performs standard or advanced metallographic analyses and tests (chemical composition analysis, specific microstructure analysis, hardness testing).
  • Maintains laboratory documentation and databases; prepares inspection reports in English and distributes them to customers.
  • Analyzes, stores, and manages samples used for testing.
  • Maintains equipment used for sample preparation within the operating parameters specified by the manufacturer (maintenance, repairs, cleaning).

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
  • Experience in metallography and specific laboratory testing represents a significant advantage.
  • Degree in Materials Engineering represents a significant advantage.
  • Proactive, analytical, and logical thinking, with strong attention to detail.
