Job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our second QA Engineer, you will take real ownership of quality across our products and help shape how QA is built in our team from the ground up. Working closely with our QA Lead, you will independently drive test planning, build automation, and improve quality standards across the entire development lifecycle — from frontend to cloud infrastructure. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies including AI-based computer vision, browser-based 3D visualization, and modern cloud systems — all contributing to software that helps clinicians make faster and more accurate diagnoses.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of test planning for releases — from defining scope to keeping documentation up to date.
- Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright across our frontend and backend systems.
- Test and validate our cloud-based infrastructure (AWS), making sure everything runs reliably in production.
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure smooth and high-quality releases.
- Investigate bugs, identify root causes, and help improve overall product stability.
- Track and improve quality over time by looking at metrics like bugs per release or test coverage.
- Continuously challenge and improve how we approach testing as a team.
YOUR BACKGROUND
We are looking for a hands-on QA Engineer who enjoys ownership and building scalable testing systems.Must-have
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Strong experience with test automation (ideally Playwright).
• Solid programming skills (Python and/or TypeScript).
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. pytest or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Docker.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of test planning.
Nice to have
• Experience with AWS or cloud-based systems.
• Exposure to medical software or regulated environments (FDA, CE).
• Experience with performance or load testing.
• Basic understanding of security testing.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- Your Impact: Your work helps make disease diagnosis faster, more precise, and more manageable.
- Your Team: Join a highly motivated, interdisciplinary team with fast decision-making processes and a collaborative atmosphere.
- Freedom to choose: Work remotely or from our office in Berlin-Kreuzberg - whatever suits you best.
- Benefits: Use your personal benefits budget flexibly and choose the perks that suit you best!
