We are seeking an experienced ESG Auditor based in Europe (i.e., Germany, Italy, Portugal) to support our environmental and social compliance assessments across various supply chains. This freelance position combines responsibilities in both social and environmental auditing, including SLCP verifications and environmental assessments aligned with RBA and Higg FEM frameworks. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of international labor standards, environmental protocols, and manufacturing sector dynamics.

Tasks

Conduct Social Compliance Audits: Perform on-site SLCP verifications, including document reviews, stakeholder interviews, and facility walkthroughs.

Execute Environmental Audits: Carry out assessments following Higg FEM and RBA environmental modules with a focus on chemical management, energy use, water, and waste systems.

Report Writing: Draft detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and areas for improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with facility management and workers to ensure accurate information is collected and feedback is delivered.

Ensure Compliance: Follow SLCP and ISO 14001 protocols, industry standards, and ethical guidelines during all verification processes.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Social Audit:

  • Valid APSCA CSCA certification

  • In-depth knowledge of local and international labor standards

  • SLCP experience is an advantage

Environmental Audit:

  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification
  • Qualified for RBA Environmental and Higg FEM modules

  • Experience with environmental audits in manufacturing settings

Skills and Competencies:

  • Fluency in the local language

  • Strong report writing and analytical skills

  • Familiarity with chemical, energy, water, and waste systems

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments independently
